Drivers association tours Pokuase-Nsawam road, praises President Mahama for reviving project

The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana and transport operators have commended President John Dramani Mahama for ensuring the resumption of the Pokuase-Nsawam-Kumasi road construction project.

After touring the Pokuase-Nsawam road to assess the progress, the association expressed gratitude for the President’s intervention in reviving the stalled project.

The project had stalled, causing difficulties for drivers, but the President’s intervention has brought the contractor back to work.

President Mahama visited the site, touring the entire stretch of the road, and instructed the contractor to complete the project by 2026.

He also allocated additional funds to facilitate the completion of the road.

Speaking to the media, Paa Willie, President of the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana, hailed President Mahama for his commitment to completing the road project.

The Association expressed gratitude for the President’s support and urged the government to ensure the project’s completion without further delays.

The Drivers also appealed to President Mahama to consider the welfare of drivers, citing the Association’s support and campaign efforts during the 2024 election.

According to them, the President had made positive changes, such as scrapping half of nursing students’ admission fees and providing free admission for first-year university students, and urged him to extend similar support to drivers.
