Adwumawura programme launched to empower 10,000 youth entrepreneurs annually

The Government of Ghana has officially launched the Adwumawura Programme, targeting the creation and support of 10,000 youth-led businesses every year.

The initiative, implemented by the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP) under the Ministry of Youth Development & Empowerment, aims to reduce youth unemployment by fostering entrepreneurship among young Ghanaians aged 18 to 35.

Ghana’s new Adwumawura Programme aims to empower young entrepreneurs with startup capital, mentorship, business development services, equipment, technology support, and market access.

Open to all Ghanaians aged 18–35, the initiative prioritises unemployed youth, women, persons with disabilities, and rural communities.

Backed by funding in the 2025 National Budget, the programme targets the creation of 40,000 youth-owned businesses over four years (10,000 annually).

A Technical Working Committee will guide implementation, oversee startup selection, tackle regulatory hurdles, and ensure the programme aligns with government’s 24-hour economy policy.
