Matchroom Boxing, in partnership with Legacy Rise Sports and host Sharaf Mahama, is set to stage its first-ever African boxing card on December 20, 2025, at the Legon Sports Stadium in Accra.
Headlining the historic event is a high-stakes light-heavyweight clash between British rivals Craig “Spider” Richards (19-4-1, 12 KOs) and Dan “Super” Azeez (22-2-1, 14 KOs).
The two former champions are promising fireworks as they battle to make a statement on African soil.
The undercard will feature rising stars Leo Atang (2-0, 2 KOs) and Nishant Dev (4-0, 2 KOs), alongside Ghanaian talents John Layea, who faces Holy Dorgbetor, and Theophilus Allotey, adding strong local flavour to the night.
The event, which will be broadcast live on DAZN, blends international star power with Ghana’s proud boxing heritage.
Matchroom Chairman Eddie Hearn described it as “a momentous occasion for African boxing,” while Craig Richards said he draws inspiration from Ghanaian legends like Azumah Nelson.
Fans can expect a vibrant night of world-class action, marking a bold new chapter in Ghana’s boxing revival.
