A member of the National Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Oduro Takyi, popularly known as B.O.T, has urged the governing party to prioritise building strong financial foundations for grassroots members who have not been appointed to public office.
Speaking in an interview with Piesie Okrah on Dwaboase on Power 97.9 FM and TV XYZ on Friday, November 14, 2025, the Certified Chartered Economist said the party must act proactively to avoid future regrets after the collective effort that returned the NDC to power in the 2024 general elections.
B.O.T called on President John Mahama, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the Chief of Staff, and the broader government machinery to design and implement initiatives that unlock the entrepreneurial potential of party members.
This, he noted, will help them become financially independent and better positioned to support the party’s long-term agenda.
He warned that without deliberate empowerment policies targeted at NDC supporters, the gains of good governance could end up being enjoyed by political opponents.
“Government must adopt deliberate policies to empower and equip its own people financially; otherwise, the NPP may end up benefiting from the gains of good governance,” he cautioned.
B.O.T’s remarks contribute to the growing national conversation about how political parties can build internal economic resilience to sustain operations and recognise loyal members beyond public appointments.
