Chief of Staff urges Republic Bank to lead 24-hour economy agenda

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has called on Republic Bank Ghana PLC to take a leading role in advancing the government’s 24-hour economy policy.

He made the appeal during his keynote address at the inauguration of Republic Bank’s new head office, located at the Ridge Roundabout in Accra.

Mr. Debrah noted that President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for a resilient and robust economy requires active participation from key financial institutions.

He therefore urged Republic Bank to align itself with this policy direction and contribute meaningfully to national development.

He further challenged the bank’s management to uphold fiscal discipline and support the President’s drive to promote locally made products, including rice, maize, cereals, and other staples, as part of efforts to stimulate inclusive growth and strategic investment.

“I am happy that the Governor of the Bank of Ghana has consistently emphasized that banking sector initiatives are designed to make our economy and our country more resilient,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Republic Bank Ghana, Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, has assured customers of improved service delivery and continued support in line with the bank’s mandate.
