The Tema Oil Refinery Limited (TOR) has announced it collaboration with oil marketing leader, GOIL PLC, to help enhance fuel supply security and stabilise prices of petroleum products in the country.
The strategic meeting comes amid steady increment of petroleum products on the world market which has triggered the prices of petrol and diesel in Ghana.
The strategic collaboration which is expected to mitigate the harsh impact of the recent fuel increment was disclosed by the Managing Director of the refinery, Mr Edmund Kombat after a meeting between the management of GOIL and TOR Wednesday morning.
The management of the oil marketing company was led by Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, Group CEO of GOIL PLC.
According to Mr Kombat, the engagement focused on “strengthening and deepening the strategic collaboration between TOR and GOIL as we work together to enhance petroleum products supply security..’
The collaboration is also expected to strengthen market resilience, and contribute to greater price stability at the pump for the Ghanaian consumer.
The partnership, Mr Kombat added, “is critical to building a more efficient, reliable and resilient downstream petroleum sector.”
Without given more details about the partnership, he assured that TOR remains committed to working with key industry stakeholders such as GOIL to support Ghana’s energy security and advance the broader national interest.
“We look forward to translating today’s discussions into concrete actions and sustainable outcomes for Ghana and the Ghanaian consumer,” Kombat pledged.
