A new technology-enabled platform designed to connect the public with independent waste collection and utility service providers will officially launch online on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Founded by Laureate Nhyira-Amissah, BorlaPlus is introducing a digital marketplace that allows households, businesses and institutions to request waste collection services and connect with verified independent drivers.
The waste collection service is currently available in Accra, Tema, Ashaiman and their environs, with plans to expand to other parts of Ghana in the coming weeks.
Connecting Customers and Independent Drivers
Unlike conventional waste collection operators, BorlaPlus does not own waste trucks or employ the drivers who provide services through the platform. Instead, it supplies the technology that links customers with independent drivers. Drivers can use the platform to access customer requests and set their own service prices, giving them greater control over how they operate.
Designed to be accessible to both customers and drivers across Ghana, the platform functions as a digital marketplace rather than a company-owned fleet. Through location-based matching, service notifications and real-time tracking, customers can request and monitor waste collection services.
More Services Ahead
While waste collection is the only service currently operational, BorlaPlus has been built to support additional offerings, including material haulage, towing and utility deliveries. The platform’s long-term vision is to serve as a digital connection point between the public and independent providers of essential waste, logistics and utility services across Ghana.
