In a significant step towards improving access to regulatory services for businesses across Ghana, the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Food and Drugs Authority Ghana (FDA).
The agreement is aimed at expanding regulatory access to small businesses who need the authorisation of the FDA before the commencement of their services.
Under the partnership, the FDA will make its services accessible through selected Ghana Enterprises Agency offices nationwide, bringing essential regulatory support closer to entrepreneurs and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
GEA’s extensive nationwide presence will improve access to FDA services, support business formalisation and regulatory compliance, and create a more enabling environment for enterprise growth. Madam Margaret Ansei, the Chief Executive of the Agency, said.
She emphasised the collaboration will strengthen institutional partnerships and help ensure that Ghanaian businesses are able to easily access the support they need from the FDA to grow and thrive.
The GEA, over the years, has given financial and technical support to MSMEs to thrive.
The Agency, under Madam Ansei, has organised series of training sessions in the past two years for small business owners, and supported thousands with equipment across the country.
