Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza has expressed total disappointment and dissatisfaction with the pace of work on some road projects under the “Big Push” programme.
The Ministers tour included a drive-through of the Sunyani Outer Ring Road, followed by inspections of the rehabilitation of the Sunyani–Buoko Junction–Techiman Road and the Techiman–Nkonsia Wenchi Road.
He also inspected ongoing works on the Wenchi–Sawla and Wa–Sawla Road projects.
In Sunyani, the Minister warned officials to heighten supervision of the ‘Big Push’ projects to meet the stated deadline or lose their jobs.
During his inspection of the Wenchi-Sawla highway, Mr Agbodza expressed his dissatisfaction at how the project was progressing and warned that he will have no choice than to terminate the contract if work slows down again.
He said the government was within schedule as far as payments to the contractors are concerned.
He therefore directed all contractors of non-performing projects to attend a critical review meeting on Monday in Accra to account for their performance.
