Culture remains one of the most powerful instruments for bringing peoples together- Dzifa Gomashie

Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie has described culture as the most powerful instrument for bringing people together.

She says nations develop when they embrace their cultures and accept one another irrespective of tribe or creed.

“From Akan traditions to the cultural heritage of the Musi, Lobi, and the Dagare people, from rhythms and percussions to choreographic expressions, from artisanal crafts to oral narratives, our cultures equal, recognize, and complement one another” the Minister said at the opening ceremony of the National Culture Week in Burkina Faso on Saturday.

The minister has since pledged her unwavering commitment to ensuring that (Ghana President) President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of building a continent of destination is achieved.

“On my own part, as the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, I pledge to assist my President to champion his vision and policy to help Africa move within the continent without hindrance” she solemnly pledged.

The week-long national piece is expected to showcase Burkina Faso’s culture to the younger generation and bring economic empowerment to the people as they exhibit and trade their crafts.

Eschew xenophobia, build on foundations laid by our forebears – Tourism Minister rallies Africans

Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie has called on Africans to eschew xenophobia and promote love, tolerance, and cooperation based on foundations already laid by our forebears.

According to her, the commonality in African’s culture must be seen as the bond of unity that binds the continent together.

She maintains that Africans share a profound sense of community, respect for elders, the transmission of values, and the conviction that culture is a living heritage meant to be passed to the younger generation like a torch or a baton in a race.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the National Week of Culture in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso on Saturday, April 25,2026 the minister who is also Member of Parliament for Ketu South in the Volta Region intimated that every part of the African culture must be seen as a unifier.

“We should avoid using any part of these as a weapon, but use them as pillars, building blocks, and glue to bring us closer together” he stated.
She was of the firm conviction that culture remains the most powerful tool for ensuring lasting peace around the globe.

“We are firmly convinced that culture remains one of the most powerful instruments for bringing peoples together, preventing conflict, and fostering lasting peace” adding that the long-standing relation between Ghana and Burkina Faso will transcend generations.

“It is, therefore, our commitment to strengthening artistic, cultural, and intellectual exchanges between our two countries and peoples across music, visual arts, heritage, literature, gastronomy, and the nurturing of young talents” he emphasized.

Burkina Faso has set April 25-May 2,2026 to mark its National Week of Culture. Ghana has been chosen as the guest country at the 22nd edition due to her show of hospitality, rich culture, long history between the two countries, shared values, deep centuries-old cultural and diplomatic ties.

The opening Ceremony was attended by President Captain Ibrahim Traore among other dignitaries.

Burkina Faso has set April 25-May 2,2026 to mark its National Week of Culture to showcase her culture to the younger generation and bring economic empowerment to the people as they exhibit and trade their crafts.

The initiative aims to expand the country’s adventure tourism portfolio beyond its traditional hub in the Eastern Region.
According to the GTA, a team of aviation experts is currently on the ground evaluating the Adaklu ridges for wind safety, steepness, and the feasibility of takeoff and landing zones.

The CEO of the GTA, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, revealed these plans during the opening of the 2026 Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival at Odweanoma Mountain.
“We are poised to promote domestic tourism and want to spread the paragliding festival to other areas,” Houadjeto stated.

“We are hoping to celebrate two paragliding festivals in Ghana every year: one in Kwahu and another in Adaklu.”
If the technical evaluations are successful, the GTA plans to launch the Adaklu site as early as 2027.

This expansion is expected to transform the local economy by attracting adrenaline seekers and international tourists, creating jobs within the hospitality and service sectors in the Adaklu enclave, and showcasing unique landscapes through low-impact aerial tourism.

The Adaklu expansion is part of a broader strategy which Mrs. Houadjeto has described as “360 Tourism.”

The initiative seeks to ensure that domestic tourism is promoted consistently every month of the year, rather than relying solely on seasonal peaks like Easter or Christmas.
To support this year-round vision, the GTA is set to introduce a specialized tour guide program targeting graduates.

These graduates, according to her, will be recruited and trained as official guides to tell the stories of Ghana’s diverse heritage sites.
In a significant move to boost mobility, the GTA plans to provide vehicles to these guides, enabling them to reach remote sites and facilitate tours more effectively.

By combining infrastructure development in Adaklu with youth-led storytelling, the GTA remains committed to making Ghana a leading destination for both domestic and international travelers

Fameye’s pen game: testimony as craft

When it comes to songwriting, Fameye does not rely on flamboyant metaphors or complex rhyme schemes to impress.

His power lies in emotional honesty and lived experience. His pen is conversational, almost prayerful, as though he is not performing at you, but confessing to you.

In an era where lyrical excellence is often measured by punchlines and verbal acrobatics, Fameye’s strength lies elsewhere: narrative truth.

Emotional Honesty as Structure

Unlike many artists who chase catchy hooks and viral phrases, Fameye writes from pain, gratitude, survival, and spiritual reflection.

His breakout single Nothing I Get remains the clearest blueprint of this approach.

The song does not dramatize hardship; it documents it. The tone feels both intensely personal and broadly collective, a diary entry that doubles as a generational anthem.

But Fameye’s honesty does not stop at economic struggle. In Habit, he turns the lens inward.

The song explores emotional dependency, repeated relational mistakes, and the difficulty of breaking cycles. Rather than blaming external forces, he interrogates himself.

That self-examination marks growth in his pen game, moving from narrating circumstance to confronting character.

Where Nothing I Get captures environmental hardship, Habit captures psychological struggle.

The songwriting in Habit is stripped down and confessional. There is no lyrical grandstanding; instead, there is admission.

He presents vulnerability not as weakness but as awareness — the recognition that some battles are internal.

That shift expands the scope of his pen. He is not only chronicling poverty, rejection, or betrayal; he is examining the human tendency to repeat what hurts us.

Relatability Over Rhetoric

What ultimately distinguishes Fameye’s songwriting is not technical wordplay but accessibility.

His language is simple, but the emotional layers are complex.
Songs like Mati explore betrayal and envy within social circles, a theme instantly recognizable to listeners across class lines.

Long Life shifts toward reflection and gratitude, expressing aspirations for longevity and fulfillment without grandiosity.

Even in motivational records like Speed Up, the urgency is grounded in lived experience rather than abstract ambition.

He writes in a way that allows the ordinary Ghanaian, the trotro mate, the unemployed graduate, the diaspora hustler, the church youth, to see themselves in his lines.

There is gratitude in the middle of frustration. Faith in the middle of doubt. Pain wrapped carefully in melody.

This relatability is not accidental; it is craft. Fameye understands that simplicity can be more powerful than lyrical density when it mirrors everyday speech and emotion.

Spiritual Undertones and Existential Reflection

Another defining layer of Fameye’s pen game is spirituality. Whether explicitly invoking God or subtly wrestling with destiny, much of his catalogue feels like dialogue, between man and hardship, man and society, man and faith.

In Praise, he leans directly into thanksgiving, framing survival as divine orchestration.

If Not God, he grapples with human limitation and existential vulnerability, acknowledging flaws and fallibility.

These are not abstract theological exercises; they are grounded reflections born from personal history.

Even Fortified, one of his more recent releases, pivots from vulnerability toward resilience. Rather than merely narrating suffering, the song positions trials as refining fire, strengthening rather than destroying.

Taken together, these records reveal a songwriter who treats music as testimony.

His verses often resemble modern psalms set against highlife and Afrobeats production, intimate confessions delivered in melody.

Consistency Without Redundancy

Across projects such as Greater Than, Songs of Peter, and Three Times of Peter, Fameye maintains thematic consistency, struggle, faith, growth, without sounding repetitive.

Each body of work revisits familiar emotions but from evolving vantage points: from lament to gratitude, from confusion to clarity.

This progression underscores maturity in his writing. He is not trapped in sorrow; he documents movement.

The Measure of His Pen

If rap pen game is traditionally defined by lyrical combat and layered metaphors, Fameye’s pen game is defined by testimony.

He may not aim to out-rap technical purists, but he consistently out-feels many of them.

And in a music landscape increasingly driven by speed and spectacle, that emotional resonance may be the more enduring weapon.

Fameye’s songwriting reminds listeners that sometimes the most powerful lines are not the most complex, they are the most honest.
