President John Dramani Mahama has assured the public and the business community that the bis government is ready and wil work round the clock to resolve the looming power crisis.
He says his government appreciates the mandate and expectations from Ghanaians.
The President who was addressing the 92nd Annual Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission at Pamadze in tbe Central region on Thursday, January 9th 2024 said his electoral victory in December is a testament of the confidence reposed in him by Ghanaians.
“We are assuming office at a critical time in our nation’s history. Ghana is faced with significant challenges. But that is exactly the reason why you elected us” he stressed
Commenting of the on the power crisis during his first public appearance barely 48hrs after assuming office, HE John Mahama assured that the lights will be kept on.
“There is a threat of power outages but my brothers and sisters, don’t despair. You elected us to solve the problems not to put the blame on anybody else,”
The cut in gas supply to the Tema power enclave will result in the loss of almost 2000 megawattts. Unfortunately not enough provision was made for fuel and we need about two weeks for fuel import and treatment, but a committee tasked to address the challenge is on track” he added
