The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has demised claims of 2025 rent arrears owed personnel
It says all payments for the year was paid in April this year as it reiterates commitment to paying rent allowance for 2026 in the coming days.
A statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the GNFS and signed by Head of Public Relations, Divisional Officer I (DO I) Emmanuel Bonney on Friday, August 21, 2026 called on the public to disregard any such rumours suggesting non-payment.
“The attention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has been drawn to a false rumour circulating on social media regarding the non-payment of the 2025 rent allowance” he cautioned.
He emphasized that the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was cleared during the first quarter of this year.
“Management wishes to state categorically that the information is false and unfounded, as the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026” DO I Bonney emphasized.
While urging the general public to disregard the false report and refrain from further circulating the misinformation across the media, the GNFS has since assured of prompt payment of the 2026 rent allowance once the emolument committee finishes its work.
“With regards to the 2026 rent allowance, we wish to inform all personnel that a committee is in place to ensure the mechanization takes effect soon” the statement concluded.
