Many artiste are just hyped on social media but lack real talent — Big Joe Frazier

Veteran artist Big Joe Frazier has revealed that many artists nowadays are hyped on social media but lack real talent.

Speaking to Afia Owusu on Xzone on TV XYZ, the celebrated rapper, social media has positively impacted music, making it easier for new artists compared to his time.

Comparing his era to the present, he noted, “Back then, it was tough. People didn’t understand the Twi dialect, and there was little investment in music. Now, investors are more willing to fund music projects.” However, he highlighted that not every artist today achieves long-term success; many experience fleeting popularity due to social media influence.

“Some artists succeed, while others struggle,” he commented. “This disparity is normal and exists everywhere, even in our days. In our time, songs underwent rigorous processes before release, ensuring quality and potential success. Today, social media simplifies things; even untalented artists can gain popularity by posting songs from their rooms without deep musical knowledge.”
