The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd to supply farm inputs and establish an organic fertiliser production plant in the Ashanti Region.
The agreement was formalised at the Ministry’s headquarters in Accra by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, and representatives of Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Opoku said the partnership forms part of the government’s drive to promote sustainable agriculture, improve soil health, and reduce reliance on chemical fertilisers. He noted that greater use of organic fertilisers will help lower the environmental and health risks linked to excessive chemical inputs while raising agricultural productivity.
The Minister expressed confidence in Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd, stating that the company has the expertise and capacity to fulfil its commitments and make a meaningful contribution to Ghana’s agricultural transformation.
Bernard Oduru Takyi, Chief Executive Officer of Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd, said the partnership demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s agricultural agenda through the production of quality organic fertilisers and the supply of affordable farm inputs to farmers nationwide. He added that the project is expected to improve crop yields, strengthen food security, create jobs, and advance sustainable farming practices.
In support of the 2026 National Farmers’ Day celebrations, Omanbapa AgriTech Ltd donated seven billboards, ten telescope flags, and 500 MoFA-branded caps to the Ministry.
The partnership is expected to reinforce sustainable agricultural practices and advance the government’s efforts to modernise Ghana’s agriculture sector.
