‘Professor Mills’ leadership was anchored in conscience’ – Mahama as pays tribute to his former boss, 14-years on .

President John Dramani Mahama has said late Professor Mills’s leadership was anchored in conscience stating that the Former President taught public office is not a prize to be claimed, but a trust given by the people to be honoured.

Speaking at the 14th Wreath -Laying Ceremony in his honour at the Asomdwe park on Friday, July 24, 2026 President Mahama intimated that his leadership today is shaped by the legacies of Professor Mills
“As I reflect on the responsibilities that the people of Ghana have entrusted to me today, I often recall his quiet wisdom and steady temperament” he said.
President Mahama said the love for God and country exhibited by professor Mills must echo in the hearts of all Ghanaians.

He since pledged to continuously walk in his legacies. “His dream of a peaceful, just and prosperous Ghana remains a work in progress. I pledge to the memory of President John Evans Atta Mills that I shall continue to walk in the footsteps he left behind” President Mahama emphasized.

 

The 14th Wreath -laying ceremony was attended by family of the late President, Speaker of Parliament Rt.Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Debrah, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, the clergy among other well-meaning Ghanaians.
