Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress and Former President John Mahama has slammed the Akufo Addo -Bawumia led administration for their penchant for excuses and blame game instead of pragmatic steps to fix challenges facing the country.
For him, shirking responsibility is a sign of total failure and does not deserve any reward from electorates.
The former President who was addressing a mini durbar at Nsawam Adoagyir as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern region noted with concern that a nation can only make progress when its leaders accept responsibility and fix the problems that arise.
The NDC Presidential candidate who begun his 5-day Monday, November 18,2024 said inn2017 when the duo assumed office, they blamed the then NDC administration for every thing they encounted.
He continued that their narrative changed to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and keeps changing despite glaring evidence of how they have messed up the economy through over borrowing and populist policies.
“Initially they said Mahama was the problem, then they found Covid-19, and then they said Russia Ukraine war. They never accept responsibility for anything ” he emphasized
“One of the first principles of leadership is taking responsibility. The negative thing about this NPP administration is that they never take responsibility ” he added
John Mahama further slammed them for their failure and taking Ghanians for granted … “any government that cannot take responsibility cannot solve our problems. You must be able to say you were elected to fix these challenges and we accept responsibility for fixing them”
