World Vision supports Ghana Health Service in fight against cholera

World Vision has partnered with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to combat the ongoing cholera outbreak, providing critical support to strengthen response efforts and protect communities at risk.

The humanitarian organization has donated essential medical supplies, clean water, and sanitation facilities to affected areas, aiming to curb the spread of the disease. Additionally, World Vision is working with local health officials to conduct public education campaigns on hygiene and safe water practices.

A representative from World Vision emphasized the organization’s commitment to improving public health, stating, “Preventing cholera requires a multi-faceted approach, and we are committed to working alongside the Ghana Health Service to ensure communities have the resources and knowledge needed to stay safe.”

Officials from GHS expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting that the intervention would significantly enhance efforts to contain the outbreak. They urged the public to adopt proper hygiene measures and report suspected cases promptly.

As part of the initiative, World Vision will continue collaborating with health authorities to provide long-term solutions, including improved water infrastructure and community health programs, to prevent future outbreaks.
