The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (Mahama Cares), on September 16, 2025, received a delegation from First Atlantic Bank who donated to support of the Fund’s mission to advance healthcare delivery across Ghana.
The visit was led by Mr. Daniel Marfo, Executive Director, Business, Mr. James Abonney, Regional Head, Accra East; Mr. Chris Kan-Dapaah, Group Head, Energy Banking & Financial Institutions; and Mr. Ebenezer Akyeampong, Head, Corporate Communications.
In his remarks, Mr. Marfo reaffirmed First Atlantic Bank’s unwavering commitment to initiatives that expand access to quality healthcare for Ghanaians.
He underscored that this donation is not only a demonstration of the Bank’s strong corporate social responsibility agenda but also a reflection of its belief that good health is a foundation for national development.
Mr Marfo further assured the Fund of the Bank’s readiness to continue supporting future interventions in the health sector.
Receiving the delegation, the Administrator of the Fund, Madam Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed profound gratitude to First Atlantic Bank for its timely and impactful support.
She noted that the Bank’s contribution comes at a crucial time in the fight against chronic non-communicable diseases and would directly strengthen efforts to provide specialized medical care for vulnerable patients across the country.
Darko-Opoku also emphasized the vital role of corporate institutions in complementing government’s vision of building a resilient healthcare system.
She lauded First Atlantic Bank for setting an example of purposeful corporate citizenship and reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to ensuring that every contribution goes toward saving lives and creating lasting impact.
