In Egypt, U.S. President Donald Trump joined world leaders to sign the initial phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, following the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.
At the summit, Trump stood before a “Peace 2025” banner, warmly greeting leaders, including Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The agreement was formalized with signatures from Trump, Egypt’s President Sisi, Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkey’s President Erdogan. “We’ve done what they said couldn’t be done—peace in the Middle East is finally here,” Trump declared at a press conference.
