Family sets November 28 for final funeral rites of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has announced Friday, November 28, as the date for her final funeral rites.

According to the family, this will be the only funeral ceremony to be held in her honour.

The announcement was made at a media briefing at the Information Services Department, where the Akonfrehene, Oheneba Awiasi Abeyie, addressed the press on behalf of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He outlined key arrangements for the state funeral, which will be held at Independence Square in Accra.

Oheneba Awiasi Abeyie said preparations are underway to ensure a dignified national farewell befitting the legacy of the former First Lady, who served Ghana with distinction and played a pivotal role in the country’s democratic and development journey.

Further details regarding the funeral programme, attendance protocols, and ceremonial guidelines will be released in due course, the family indicated.
