Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry tours Blue Skies Ghana, reaffirms commitment to value addition

The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting value addition and strengthening Ghana’s agro-processing sector during a working visit to Blue Skies Ghana.

The sector Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, accompanied by Deputy Minister Sampson Ahi, paid the visit on Friday, February 13, 2026, as part of efforts to deepen engagement with key agro-processing firms and align their operations with the country’s industrialization and export development agenda.

Welcoming the delegation, Head of Communications at Blue Skies Ghana, Alistair Djimatey, stated that the company remains committed to its founding philosophy of processing fresh fruits locally to maximize value.

“Blue Skies Ghana has consistently upheld its ‘Adding Value at Source’ philosophy, ensuring that fresh fruits are processed locally rather than exported in raw form.

This approach supports local job creation and strengthens Ghana’s agro-processing value chain,” he said.

He explained that the company, headquartered near Nsawam and established in 1997 by Anthony Pile, processes a variety of fruits for both domestic consumption and export, earning multiple awards for quality and excellence.

During the visit, the Minister toured the production facility, observing key processes including handling, processing, and packaging, and later interacted with workers on the factory floor.

She commended the company’s workforce and management for their contribution to Ghana’s industrial growth.

“Agro-processing remains central to our industrial transformation agenda. The government will continue to support companies that are creating jobs, adding value to our agricultural produce, and expanding Ghana’s export potential,” Ofosu-Adjare stated.

As part of the visit, the Minister also toured the company’s farm in Adeiso in the Eastern Region to gain insight into its sourcing and supply chain operations.

The delegation further visited Nyonkodor Farms, also located in Adeiso, a Ghanaian agricultural company engaged in the supply and export of agricultural produce and food products.

The Ministry reiterated its resolve to strengthen agro-processing as a key pillar of Ghana’s economic transformation, emphasizing the importance of value addition in boosting exports, creating jobs, and driving sustainable industrial growth.
