Two suspected robbers were on Thursday shot dead at the Labone branch of the GCB Bank, Accra during an attempted robbery.
One suspect was arrested in the process by the police personnel on duty and other armed officials at the bank.
The men, according to eyewitnesses had parked their vehicle near the bank’s car park for a while before tailgating unsuspecting persons who had gone to the bank for withdrawal.
Police personnel who suspected the men responded to the incident and managed to thwart the operation while they tried to escape.
Two of the suspected robbers were shot during the police intervention and died, while a third suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody.
Police say the identity of the suspects will be made known while they launch investigations into the incident.
