Former Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Mr Kojo Bonsu has touted the NDC’s projects in the Ashanti Region and called on the inhabitants to vote the party to power again for giving them many projects.
He said the NDC under John Mahama delivered most of his promises made to the region hence the region should support him to be re-elected this year.
Ghana goes to the polls on December 7,2024, to elect a leader. The contest is between former president John Mahama and Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NDC led by John Mahama has labeled the Akufo-Addo government as the most corrupt government ever that has inflicted hardship on Ghanaians.
Mr Bonsu believes the NDC stands tall as the country prepares for the elections.
Speaking to Oheneba Boamah Bennie on the Gumbe Show on TV XYZ Thursday night, the former KMA Boss stated that the NPP has neglected the Ashanti Region despite it being the region that gave the government the most votes in Ghana.
“The Kejetia Market that we built didn’t come easy. We were threatened with court suits but we did it regardless. The women who opposed the project have been calling me almost everyday to praise us. They keep telling me the government has failed them,” Bonsu said.
“What we did in the Ashanti Region are many. Apart from the Kejetia market, we built the Atonsu, Tafo, Asawasi markets.”
He mentioned the rehabilitation of the Kumasi Airport, road projects, hospitals, including the Safari and Kumasi hospitals as some of the legacy projects the NDC did under the Mahama administration.
“When we talk, we do. Mr John Mahama does not pledge what he cannot do. The NPP lied to Ashantis that they were going to construct a new interchange at Suame interchange but till now nothing has happened, ” he assured.
Mr Kojo Bonsu urged the Ashantis to reject the NPP since they have failed them and choose John Mahama since he knows how to govern to bring respite to Ghanaians.
According to him, ” the NDC lived well with the people of Ashanti, and gave us more projects that the NPP cannot match.”
” I believe Ashantis have to thank the NDC this year with their votes so we continue the projects we couldn’t complete. I know the Ashantis will remember us and vote Mr John Mahama,” he urged.
