Biden announces Presidential Delegation to Ghana for Mahama inauguration

U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday announced the designation of a Presidential Delegation to attend the inauguration of Ghana’s President-elect John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2025, in Accra, Ghana.

In a statement from the White House, Biden named Shalanda D. Young, director of the United States Office of Management and Budget, as leader of the delegation.

Members of the delegation include: Virginia E. Palmer, U.S Ambassador to Ghana, Karen Bass, Mayor of Los Angeles, California and Frances Z. Brown, special assistant to the President and senior director for African Affairs at the White House’s National Security Council.

Mahama beat incumbent Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to win the December 7th presidential elections.
