President Nana Akufo-Addo says he will do everything within his power to ensure a free and fair election in the upcoming December elections.
Addressing Ghanaians during his last State of the Nation Address delivered in Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, he assured that he will ensure that the elections are conducted with utmost fairness and integrity.
He highlighted the preparedness of security agencies to swiftly control any individuals or groups intending to disrupt the peace during the electoral process.
President Akufo-Addo also called upon political parties in the nation to conduct their campaigns in a manner free from hostility and hate speech.
“Mr Speaker, I want to at this juncture assure the people of Ghana that I will do everything possible to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. The security agencies are well-prepared to deal with anyone or groups of persons who intend to cause any havoc.”
Additionally, President Akufo-Addo reiterated his role as the foremost authority responsible for governing the country.
