Nkwanta South MCE calls for enhanced collaboration to boost healthcare

In a significant move to bolster healthcare services, Joseph Antwi Awal, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, has advocated for a stronger partnership between the local government and the Municipal Health Directorate.

This initiative is designed to tackle the urgent healthcare needs of the municipality and ensure that all residents have access to high-quality medical care.

With his background as a former Deputy Health Information Officer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital, Joseph Antwi Awal is well-aware of the vital role health services play in community well-being.

He has urged all stakeholders to unite in addressing the various challenges that the healthcare system faces.

The MCE emphasized that effective collaboration is key to pinpointing service delivery gaps and implementing effective strategies to improve health outcomes.

“We must work together to build a healthcare system that is not only efficient but also highly responsive to the needs of our community,” he stated.

Furthermore, he encouraged the Health Directorate in the municipality to work closely with the assembly to pinpoint key areas for improvement, specifically in resource allocation and service delivery.

This collaborative approach aims to optimize the use of resources and ensure that healthcare services are both accessible and effective for all residents.

Meanwhile the municipal health director for Nkwanta South Dr. Ativor appealed to the MCE for the necessary infrastructure improvements to ensure that healthcare facilities are adequately powered, thereby enhancing healthcare delivery.

Dr. Ativor also assured the MCE of their commitment to effective collaboration to ensure that the people of Nkwanta South receive the quality healthcare services they deserve.
