President Mahama declares July 1st national day of prayer and thanksgiving

President John Dramani Mahama has officially declared July 1 as Ghana’s annual National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

Speaking at the inauguration of the national organizing committee for the observance, President Mahama emphasized the power of collective faith in shaping the country’s destiny.

He noted that setting aside a day each year for Ghanaians of all religious backgrounds to unite in prayer places the nation “at the center of God’s design.”

“This day is not only about thanking God for what He has already done,” the President said, “but a time to renew our dependence on Him for the future development of our country.”

The declaration is expected to become a unifying national tradition, cutting across religious lines and reaffirming Ghana’s spiritual identity in its national journey.
