The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV has endorsed the 24-hour economic policy proposal by Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama.
For him,as an industrialist, this is a sure way to ending Ghana’s unemployment woes and to bridge the huge poverty gap.
Torgbe Afede said contrary to what naysayers claim, this policy if well implemented will be the game changer that will add to Ghana’s foreign exchange basket.
“Let me congratulate you in your 24-hour economy. As someone who believes in hard work,I believe this is what we need. It is obvious that application of this policy in the manufacturing sector will indeed be a game changer” he emphasized as he welcomed John Mahama who is on a campaign tour of the Volta region to his Palace.
He added that “if you buy plants and equipment, it is for you 24-hour but if you choose to use it for only 8-hours, there is little chance that you will make it because the manufacturer designed it with a 24-hour mindset hence its cost” he said
Torgbe Afede who is also an accomplished business man said the 24-hour economy will help Ghana’s economy thrive if it takes full advantage of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area agreement.
“With the advent of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area agreement,we in Ghana need to expand our production capacity so we can take maximum advantage. It has been established that we are far behind those countries currently in the pilot face as far as export to our counterparts are concerned. Your policy is a sure way to make us ready to export to other African countries” he explained.
