Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams (Hon), on Monday, March 17th 2025, hosted members of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the various Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen at the Ministry in Accra.
The meeting was held purposely to formally introduce the GFA Executive Council and the Regional Football Association members to the Minister and to wish him well in his new role as sector Minister.
Hon. Kofi Adams, congratulated Mr. Kurt Okraku on his election to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as the sixth Ghanaian to achieve this feat and charged him to let his position reflect in the development of football in Ghana.
He underscored the need to put in place a strategy to revive the local leagues through the revitalisation of colts football and strengthen the grassroots to enhance the development of the sport adding that, the leadership of the F.A must bring the league back to life.
He further advised them to take keen interest in the growth of other Federations in order for them to benefit from the expertise of the F.A.
According to the Minister, his office was ready to collaborate and provide the necessary support to enhance the development of football in Ghana.
The President of the GFA, Mr. Edwin Okraku on his part commended the Minister for his support and encouragement.

Mr. Okraku noted that the F.A would work closely with him for the success of the entire football ecosystem.
He reiterated that, the GFA is the most organised and well structured Federation in Ghana and assured the Minister of their effort to bring back the glory days as far as football was concerned.
The GFA president used the opportunity to symbolically present documents which has been prepared to address the challenges of football noting that the game can progress with the concerted effort from all stakeholders.
In attendance were Senior officials from both the Ministry and the GFA, including the Vice President of the GFA, Mr. Mark Addo and the General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo.

Also present were Executive Council and RFA members including Nana Oduro Sarfo, Eugene Noel Nobel, Samuel Aboabire, Patrick Akoto as well as Neil Amstrong Mortagbe and others.
