Paramount Chief of Yeji Traditional Area applauds Mahama for dev’t; prays for more

The Paramount Chief of the Yeji Traditional Area (Yeji Wura), Pimapim Yaw Kagbrese V has commended John Dramani Mahama and the erstwhile National Democratic Congress, NDC administration for development initiatives that begun to give his traditional area a facelift before he lost the 2016 elections.

According to the Yeji Wura, the living conditions of the people in most communities would have been worse but for the initiatives byt the NDC over the years, which have enhanced their lives.

He singled out the former President and the NDC Flagbearer saying Yejiman will forever be grateful to him for his committment to pledges made in the past.

” We will remain forever grateful for establishing this institution” he emphasized.

Nana Pinampim Yaw Kagbrese V who was speaking at the 42nd anniversary of his enstoolment was particularly happy about the construction of the Yeji Nursing and Midwifery Training College which he said has created opportunities for the youth in the catchments area.

He however appealed for additional facilities to enhance academic work.

“The college still lacks major facilities such as students hostel, lecture halls and administrative block to enhance teaching and learning against this background I want to appeal to you to help provide these important facilities when you come to power” he outlined.

 

The celebration was under the theme: Inspirational Traditional Leadership and Development.

He said while Chiefs have remained a fulcrum around which development revolves, it is important for the central government to support their course .

He used the ocassion to appeal for other projects to open up the area to business opportunities and investors.

” We want to appeal to you in your government to construct a hospital for the people of Yeji , the expansion of the Yeji Senior High School , continuation of work on the Yeji Community Center project and construction of the Yeji roads” he requested.

Nana Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V also prayed for peaceful elections with appeal to all politician to be decorous in their campaign activities.

Key among the projects the people of Yeji credit to the NDC are the

1. Establishment of midwifery and the provision of pick up for the institution
2. A one-storey Form 3 block, a one storey science laboratory block and a one storey girls dormitory block all in the Yeji secondary Technical school , which has increased enrollment drastically

3. Additional classroom blocks in other communities
4. Chips compound at Avorkope, Blenkety, Kajai, labo, Kobre, kadue and Accra town, and the establishment of harbour clinic all within Pru East constituency.
5. Extension of electricity and meters to almost all the communities within Pru East

7. Establishment of a landing beach which supplies premix fuel directly to Fisher folks which generated profit for a school infrastructure
8. Yeji town roads among others
