Stop this NIA’s Last Minute Manoeuvre to aid illegal Voter Registration in Pusiga – Dr Omane Boamah

When we tell you the NPP has criminalized state institutions, believe us!

The National Identification Authority (NIA), headed by Bawumia’s bosom friend Ken Attafuah, has strangely chosen this voter registration period to embark on a special pilot program to issue Ghanacards to “Ghanaians living along the borders of Ghana and Burkina Faso in Pusiga.”

The NIA states that, “all Ghanaians living in Pusiga who have not been able to register are encouraged to do so.”

This choice few days after the #EagleEyes of the NDC voter registration agents in Pusiga caused the arrest of the officer of the Electoral Commission (Muhazu) who was using a single Ghanacard to register multiple people to vote on December 07, 2024 is curious and suspicious.

This NIA exercise masked as a collaboration with IOM is simply to aid illegal voters to embark on the last lap of the voter registration exercise.

The NIA wants to give the people driven away from the Pusiga registration centre Ghana cards in order for them to register within these final 7 days and vote on December 07.

The NDC will only allow legal registration of voters!

We have instructed our agents to do the needful!

NB:

Recall that in the NDC press conference held on Thursday, 16th May, 2024, we said,

“Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, we are compelled to address another grave concern: the flagrant abuse of the Ghana Card. It has come to our attention that EC registration officials, in
collusion with elements from our opponents, the NPP, are misusing the Ghana Card extensively. A particularly alarming instance was uncovered at the PUSIGA registration center, where EC registration officer, Muhazu Alhassan, used a single Ghana Card to register over 20 applicants.”

we further added, “Upon discovery, the police were promptly notified, leading to Muhazu Alhassan’s arrest.

Although he has since been granted bail pending further investigation, this incident raises significant concerns. The NPP’s distribution of Ghana Cards to minors to facilitate their registration underscores a systemic manipulation of our electoral process.

The EC has lamented the registration of minors yet conspicuously fails to challenge the National
Identification Authority (NIA) for issuing cards to these minors and misrepresenting their ages.

Why is the EC’s database not integrated with the NIA’s to instantly verify the ages of new voters, especially when $54 million of taxpayer money was invested in 2020 to secure
biometric registration capabilities? What purpose does the NIA serve…”

3 researches went into Naana Jane’s renomination – Omane Boamah

The Director of Elections and IT for the opposition NDC, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has eulogized the party’s running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, saying her experience to the John Mahama ticket will win the party power in December.

The former president, Mr Mahama has announced Professor Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for election 2024 on Thursday, March 7.

In a statement, the NDC leader, John Mahama, expressed confidence in his running mate.

“I am proud to have Professor Naana
Jane Opoku-Agyemang as my running mate. Her integrity, dedication, and vision for a better Ghana make her the ideal candidate to join me in leading our party to victory in the upcoming elections, ” Mahama said while nominating Prof. Opoku-Agyemang.

Reacting to the fortunes the running mate brings to the party, Dr Boamah, a former Minister for Communication states that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang brings a wealth of experience to the ticket, adding that her gender and personality creates hope for women aspiring to be leaders.

“John Mahama took his time in selecting his Running Mate. He did three different researches and in all, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang stood tall,” Dr. Omane Boamah said on Inside Politics on TV XYZ.

Touching on the running mate’s personality, he argued that her impact saw the NDC winning more seats in her home region.

“Prior to 2020 elections, NDC had just 4 seats in the Central Region. The John and Jane ticket catapulted the number from 4 to 13 seats,” he added.

The NDC, he noted, will leave no stone unturned in its quest to win the 2024 elections and “rescue Ghanaians from the bad governance currently being witnessed.”

Dr Omane Boamah writes …… “Running mate in the NDC not a position to lobby for”

The Director of Elections of National Democratic Congress, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has given a fair idea as to how a running mate is settled in the party.

According to him, the history has been that people who lobby for the position are not given the opportunity.

He says that has always been the case and will never change.
“This history should teach us to ignore people who lobby to be running mates. They are never selected as running mates in the NDC.” – he emphasized.
“Relatedly, let me clear my throat: The position of running mate is not secured through lobbying in the NDC.”

Happy 67th independence anniversary!
Let’s work together to defeat the nonperforming and corrupt Akufo-Addo Bawumia government to reset our dear country on the path of progress.
Relatedly, let me clear my throat: The position of Running mate is not secured through lobbying in the NDC.
Not when President Rawlings chose Kow Nkenssen Arkaah in 1992.
Not when President Rawlings chose Professor Atta Mills in 1996.
Not when Vice President Atta Mills chose Martin Amidu in 2000.
Not when Vice President Atta Mills chose Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni in 2004.
Not when Vice President Atta Mills chose John Dramani Mahama in 2008.
Not when President Mahama chose Governor Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur in 2012 and in 2016; and
Not when President Mahama chose Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman in 2020.
2024 cannot be an exception!
This history should teach us to ignore people who lobby to be Running mates. They are never selected as Running mates in the NDC.
God bless our dear NDC party, God bless our homeland Ghana

Dr. Omane Boamah welcomes EC’s decision to hold 2024 elections on December 7

Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congress has described the decision by the Electoral Commission (EC) to hold the 2024 elections on December 7 as victory for consensus building.

The EC, had proposed to change the date of the elections to November, citing need for enough room for possible run-off and the transitional processes before January 7, when the elected President is inaugurated, in accordance with the 1992 Constitution.
But the NDC described the move as poorly timed. It also cited constitutional difficulties EC may face in Parliament if there is no consensus building.
The NDC, which is suspicious of EC’s moves, vowed to use all means possible to block it.

Refreshing to know the Electoral Commission has finally agreed to hold the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections on December 07 instead of the proposed November date.

We also welcome the EC’s eventual decision to agree to use indelible ink in the upcoming elections.

These combined decisions represent both a victory for democracy and victory for decent advocacy.

We trust that consensus building at IPAC meetings will be sustained in order to ensure free, fair, transparent, and incident free elections.

In this election, we also hope that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government will avoid the dastardly killing of eight (8) Ghanaians, which blood-stained the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Hopefully, we can all receive the EC’s calendar of activities for the elections soon because December 07 is only 10 clear months away.

Remember to vote John Dramani Mahama for well-paying jobs through the 24-hour economy initiative.
