I’ll set up regional agro-processing zones when elected – Mahama

Former President  and the flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated his commitment to revamping the agriculture sector to create sustainable jobs for the youth when elected in the December elections.

He emphasised that his plan is to establish agro-industrial processing zones in all 16 regions in Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana EXIM Bank to enhance the value of crops for which the regions have a competitive advantage.

In a Facebook post after touring the Northern part of the country recently, Mr Mahama explained that the move is not to only create jobs for the people of Ghana but also to enable Ghanaians to gradually reduce their dependence on the import of raw materials.

“I am passionate about creating a thriving agricultural sector and am committed to delivering on my promises to support small businesses and farmers across the country”, he stated while reassuring Ghanaians that “Agriculture and agro-processing are a priority for me.”

Below is his post

During my recent visit back home, I had the privilege of meeting with a cashew nuts businessman, Mr Taylor, and his dedicated staff. It was a humbling experience to hear their stories and campaign for their votes in the 7th of December election. It was touching to hear about the importance of his business and how it has provided employment opportunities for young people in the area.

This is why I remain committed to supporting small business owners like Taylor and fulfilling my promise to set up regional processing zones. Agriculture and agro-processing are a priority for me, and empowering farmers and supporting agro-industrial processing will significantly impact our economy.

My plan is to establish special agro-industrial processing zones in all sixteen regions and, in collaboration with the Ghana EXIM Bank, enhance the value of the crops for which they have a comparative advantage. This strategic move will not only open new job opportunities but also enable us to gradually reduce our dependence on the import of strategic products currently imported as raw materials.

I am passionate about creating a thriving agricultural sector and am committed to delivering on my promises to support small businesses and farmers across the country. Together, we would build a prosperous and sustainable future for Ghana.

My 24-hour economy policy is the answer Ghana’s challenges – Mahama

The 2024 flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has stated that his proposed 24-hour economy initiative is the solution to addressing Ghana’s financial and economic challenges.

Speaking during a special live broadcast themed ‘Mahama Conversations,’ the former president emphasised that this initiative is crucial for overcoming the country’s current and future difficulties.

Mahama explained that the 24-hour economy would create an enabling environment for businesses, companies, and government agencies, leading to increased job creation and higher employment rates.

He stressed that this initiative would be instrumental in boosting economic activity and fostering growth across various sectors.

Highlighting the benefits, Mr Mahama asserted that the 24-hour economy would significantly improve the standard of living for many Ghanaians.

By promoting continuous economic engagement, he insisted that the initiative aims to strengthen the overall economic framework and provide more opportunities for the populace.

“The 24-hour initiative is the answer for now and in the future. It will create an enabling environment with deliberate policies for businesses, companies, and government institutions to operate 24/7 in a three-eight-hour shift system.

Disregard the partisan & outrageous order from the Electoral Commission – Omane Boamah orders NDC agents

The Director in charge of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress has condemned Anither attempt by the Electoeal Commission to manipulate the electoral register by denying party agents access to witness the ongoing exercise

It has since ordered NDC agents tk disregard a directive by the EC to its officers do block party agents under the guise of preventing clashes

He writes ….

NO gerrymandering!*

The Deputy Chairman Operations of the Electoral Commission (EC) must return the bribe he has taken from the ruling NPP if he has been induced to aid gerrymandering.

What does the EC and the NPP have to hide such that they do not want Agents of political parties to observe the ongoing voter transfer exercise?

Will they stop any legitimate Civil Society Organisation from observing the voter transfer process?

What does the EC have to hide?

We are living in a very volatile electoral environment where the EC has proven to be incompetent at working basic arithmetic to collate the 2020 presidential election results.

Furthermore, in recent times, the EC has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the use of simple Excel to collate the total number of registered voters is more complex than quantum mechanics.

How does the EC expect the NDC and any reasonable Ghanaian to trust that they will be up to the task without checks and balances?

Additionally, how does the EC expect a Returning Officer alone to ascertain the authenticity of the mandatory 12 months or more stay of a voter seeking to transfer his/her vote in our very informal dominant society?

The EC by this directive to stop Agents of political parties from observing the ongoing voter Transfer exercise has once again proven to the NDC that they’re not interested in free, fair, and transparent elections.

As a result, we are directing our agents and regional and constituency executives to disregard this partisan order from the Deputy Chairman Operations of the Electoral Commission.

As agreed at the IPAC meeting (held last week on Wednesday 29th May, 2024 in the presence of Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensah, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana), NDC agents must appear at the EC offices tomorrow to safeguard the sanctity of the upcoming elections and the peace of our dear country.

*No gerrymandering!*

Besides, there is no aspect of our electoral laws that explicitly stops agents from observing voter transfer!

Therefore, we shall not allow a few partisanly biased people working at the EC to destroy our cherished democracy!

Ambulance case: NDC demands Godfred Dame’s resignation over fabrication of evidence

The National Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has demanded the immediate resignation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame.

The main opposition party has also called for a full publicly-televised Parliamentary inquiry into what it describes as a “heinous crime of fabrication of evidence”.

The demand follows a press conference held on Tuesday, May 28, to disclose evidence to back a testimony the third accused, businessman Richard Jakpa, in the Ambulance case against Minority Leader, Dr Cassel Ato Forson and three others for allegedly causing financial loss to the state in the procurement of ambulances.

Mr Asiedu Nketia accused the Attorney-General of professional misconduct regarding the ongoing trial in his attempt to coerce one of the accused persons to give false testimony to enable the court jail the Dr Ato Forson, then a former deputy Finance Minister at the time of the transaction.

“In the period following the revelations, the NDC has obtained compelling evidence which supports Mr Jakpa’s claim that the Attorney-General indeed has engaged him on countless occasions and urged him to falsify his testimony to aid the case of the Attorney-General against Dr Ato Forson.” – he emphasized.

Presenting a recorded telephone conversation between Godfred Dame and Richard Jakpa, and screen shots of Whatsup messages between the two, the NDC National Chairman noted that, contrary to NPP’s claim that the Attorney General was entrapped, it was evidently clear, that he arranged the said meeting at the Supreme Court judges house, and that, the so-called recording was a phone conversation and not a recording at the Judges home.

The audio and its content also indicate that the third accused, Mr Jakpa, was insisting on his right, defended the transaction as legitimate throughout the sixteen (16) minute conversation and declined a request to falsify evidence.

“Frankly if I agree to your position, how you want to go about it and how you want me to go about answering questions and things. If I go by that way, frankly speaking I will be dishonest. Because I know how it is supposed to be. And I will be dishonest in such a way that I will be assisting for someone I know is completely innocent about this, for example Ato Forson to be jailed because I knew something was wrong, was not the way and I decided to keep quiet and to answer the questions in a way that will make your case better for you to jail him. I will be battling with my conscience.” Mr Jakpa angrily reacted.

He continued – “thats the problem I have anytime you bring up this issue with Yoni Kulendi. Thats the problem I am having. Because me for example I am in this case because I am innocent and I am going through ordeal. So I am looking at another person also going through the same ordeal through me because I know the truth and I decide not to say it because I want to help the AG to make a case and I ask myself, what is my interest in it?”

In the said audio evidence, the Attorney General, Godfred Dame is heard asking if he was not recording their conversation.

“Anyway that’s fine” he said

But Mr Jakpa went ahead to ask, “I hope you understand”

At that point Mr Godfred Dame went further “Its on the phone and I don’t know whether you are recording”
Based on the evidence adduced, the NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia observed that per the 1992 Constitution, the Attorney-General must be a shining example and a leading light for the Bar, but as he put it “ not a criminal-minded, crooked, devious and vicious person who is pre-occupied with witch hunting and victimisation.

Mr Asiedu Nketia added that by this ‘alleged’ criminal conduct, Godfred Dame has demonstrated time without number that he cannot prioritise the national interest over his party’s parochial and self-serving interest.

“Godfred Dame has brought shame and disrepute to the honourable office of the Attorney-General with his criminal, devious and vicious conduct. He is a danger to fairness and justice in our judicial system and represents the lowest point in the history of persons who have occupied the hallowed office of Attorney-General and Minister of Justice…..He must therefore resign or be sacked by the President without delay”. He demanded

NDC’S DEMANDS

• The immediate and unconditional resignation or dismissal of Godfred Dame for bringing the high office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice into disrepute and public opprobrium. Clearly, Mr. Dame is not fit to hold himself out as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice. He is unfit to be the Leader of the Ghanaian Bar.
• The immediate prosecution of Godfred Dame for multiple violations of the laws of Ghana. We wish to make it clear that should President Akufo-Addo fail to prosecute him, a future NDC government will prosecute Godfred Dame for this heinous crime of fabrication of evidence.

• Commencement of disciplinary proceedings by the General Legal Council against Godfred Dame and his disbarment for conduct unbecoming of a lawyer and more importantly the leader of the Ghana Bar.
• A publicly-televised Parliamentary inquiry into this and other reports of judicial manipulations by Godfred Dame with a view to censure Godfred Dame to prevent the recurrence of such judicial manipulations.

Dr. Ato Forson, a former Deputy Finance Minister, along with two others, is on trial for allegedly causing financial loss of €2.4 million to the state through the importation of 30 ambulances.
This forms part of a 2012 contract between the Ministry of Health and Dubai-based firm, Big Sea Limited, for the purchase of 200 ambulances

NDC exposes Bawumia’s attempt to steal Mahama’s pledge to create 1million jobs through training in Coding

Former deputy Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has accused Vice President and 2024 flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party of plagiarizing the National Democratic Congress, NDC’s manifesto pledge to create job opportunities for one young people through what it training in ICT and coding.

According to him, the policy initiative, dubbed ‘One Million Coders’ in NDC’s 2020 Manifesto (the Peoples Manifesto), was to leverage on huge investments the former President, John Dramani Mahama made in digital infrastructure to provide adequate platforms for job-relevant digital skills in software development including coding and programming, to help young men and women to realise their full potential in 21st Century living.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu who was explaining NDC’s plan for the youth said under the proposed policy initiative, a Ministry for Youth Development to be created, shall among other things shall establish a $50million FINTECH fund and facilitate a $3billion investment in ICT infrastructure through public-private partnership.

He said unlike Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and the Akufo Addo led government which have earned an unenviable reputation for lies, John Mahama has a verifiable track record.

“If John Mahama promises, he delivers. He established the Ghana Infrastructure Fund which generates $250million annually, He established the Sinking Fund. After fixing ‘dumsor’, he also established the Energy Sector Levy, ESLA to address legacy debts which has raised over 25 billion cedis since it became law. So its not mere rhetoric. His track record speaks volumes” – Kwakye Ofosu emphasized.

He assured the youth of hope and urged them to believe in the NDC 2024 flagbearer, John Mahama, a man he described as the ‘nation builder’.
You will recall that in February this year, John Mahama affirmed his commitment to this policy when he engaged stakeholders at a two-day NDC LAB Policy Dialogue themed “Towards the 2024 Manifesto: Consolidating Our Thematic Group Policy Proposals”.

He assured that the initial seed capital of US$50 million will support indigenous companies in fostering the growth of the digital economy.
Ghanaians interested in the ‘Coding for Em¬ployment Programme’ will be equipped with in-de¬mand digital skills for the growing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) ecosystems.

“ I have the utmost confidence that very soon we (Ghanaians) shall see and have a feel of a manifesto that responds to the day-to-day needs of Ghanaians and leverages our shared aspirations and common identity when it is launched. A manifesto anchored on the people’s will. We are ready, and I am prepared to lead us in building the Ghana we want together,” John Mahama told the technical experts.

NDC will win by 52% if the polls were held today – Asiedu Nketia

The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has stated that the NDC will emerge victorious if the national elections were held today.

According to him, while the party is certain about victory, it is primarily concerned about ensuring a transparent electoral process without disruptions.

Speaking to JoyNews on Thursday, May 23, he said, “Our message has been accepted. The two parties have been tried. There are opinion polls that have been churned out and everything points to a one-touch victory for NDC. But as has been said by some Russian president that, those who vote decide nothing but those who count the vote decide everything.”

“So we are focusing on those who will be counting the vote and those who will be providing security to make sure that elections proceed uninterrupted. So that is where our focus is.”

Mr Nketia stated that multiple credible polls, apart from the local ones, support the NDC’s projected victory.

“That is the source of our confidence. We are winning 52% as of this month. If free and fair elections should be conducted, we should win 52% and that is a one-touch win.”

The NDC National Chairman called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to address concerns regarding the missing Biometric Verification Readers (BVRs).

He argued that the EC should be transparent and respond to the demands, as doing so would resolve outstanding disagreements and restore confidence in the electoral processes.

“They have every capacity to respond to those demands without creating any problems. The fact that they are refusing to open up is a source of worry and it will continue to be a source of worry. I think that, if they don’t have anything to hide, opening up would have resolved this matter a long time ago,” Mr Nketia added.

Any attempt to rig the December 7 elections will be met with resolute resistance – NDC vows

The largest opposition party, NDC has again taken on the Electoral Commission, serving notice that, failure to abide bit its own electoral laws, ostensibly to help manipulate the December 7 elections shall be met with resolute resistance.

The party, what has vowed never to seek redress in Court again, following how the 2020 Presidential election petition case was handled, says EC’s posturing towards serious infractions identified in the ongoing voter registration exercise, is deepening suspicion.

General Secretary of the party, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey who addressed a news conference on Wednesday, May 16, 2024 said it will serve its own interest and by extension the peace of the entire nation if it strictly adheres to CI 127, which governs the conduct of the general elections.

Mr Kwetey emphasized that the NDC, haven’t learnt lessons, is fully equipped and prepared to respond with unwavering determination to defend the sanctity of our votes and the democratic future of Ghana.

He noted .. “It is imperative that the EC recognizes the critical nature of its mandate and the profound risk our country faces if it fails to perform its duties responsibly. We remain vigilant and are fully prepared to ensure that come January 2025, power will be peacefully transferred to a government elected by the people, for the people, under the leadership of our visionary, John Dramani Mahama, and Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman”
The NDC is also accusing the EC of breaching Regulation 8 (1) and (2) of CI 91, as amended by CI 126; a law which mandates the EC to publish the names and pictures of persons it proposes to appoint as registration supervisors, registration officers, registration assistants, and any other officials for the centers, not later than fourteen days before they are appointed.

“We submit that the EC has acted unlawfully by violating Regulation 8 (1) and (2) of CI 91, as amended by CI 126. The law states: 1. The Commission shall make available to the interested persons or parties at the district office the names and pictures of persons it proposes to appoint as registration supervisors, registration officers, registration assistants, and any other officials for the centers, not later than fourteen days before they are appointed. 2.

A registered political party or an interested person may, in writing, object to any person proposed for appointment as a registration supervisor, a registration officer, a registration 6 assistant, or any other official within seven days after the names of the proposed officers have been made available.” .. he explained

On the ongoing registration exercise, the NDC questioned EC’s preparedness especially about the technical challenges affecting the registration process, its decision to limit internet accessibility to only one network, compelling it to resort to offline registration.

Another critical issue raised today was about the distorted figures on registered voters.
You will recall the EC admitted the mistakes but watered down concerned raised after it claimed they have been corrected.

But the NDC insists the EC merely swapped figures and its record still don’t tally.

He explained “It will astonish you to learn that even their revised figures is still riddled with errors and needs further corrections. 11 For instance, in the Oti Region, the Day 2 figure of 578 was erroneously swapped with Day 3’s figure of 1,515. If these figures are realigned correctly, Day 2’s national total should be 18,330, not 19,267; Day 3’s total should be 49,553, not 48,616. Similarly, Day 3 figure for Bono East as stated in their corrected data is 771.

But this is totally wrong. Bono East recorded 2,252 per our provisional data. This figure will affect the total registered voters of 5,118 for Bono East for the four days as stated by the EC. Indeed, the total should rather be 6,599 thereby leading to a grand total of 144,495 and not 143,014 as put out by Dr. Bossman Asare at his press conference on the 12th of May 2024”

The NDC Chief Scribe wondered what to expect of the EC, which is making mistakes with compilation of figures from its district offices will put across when electoral results from polling stations begin to trickle in on December 7th
As the NDC put it … ‘Such dubious behavior from the EC could destabilize our democracy if left unchecked. Imagine the potential chaos on December 7th, 2024, if the EC continues to release incorrect figures’

The party has since appealed to the National Peace Council, the Peace Council, CSOs and other stakeholders to take note and intervene before its too late.

“We are issuing a firm notice to the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission: the 2024 elections will not be business as usual! We are also here to declare unequivocally that any attempt by the EC to violate CI 127, which governs the conduct of the general elections, will be met with resolute resistance from us. We will not stand idly by while the EC undermines the time-tested electoral processes that are well recognized and respected by all stakeholders.

Why should we, as a nation, accept anything less than adherence to the regulations that safeguard the integrity of our elections? We must all commit to upholding the various Constitutional Instruments that regulate our registration exercises and elections. This commitment is essential to ensuring peace, stability, and the conduct of free, fair, and transparent elections on December 7, 2024.
Therefore, we call upon the National Peace Council, Civil Society Organizations, religious bodies, and indeed all Ghanaians to take an active interest in the processes leading up to the 2024 elections. It is only through collective vigilance and active participation that we can safeguard our democratic processes”

NDC closely monitoring Police on arrest of pro-NPP hoodlums in Okaikwei North for attacking MP

The National Democratic Congress has served notice it is closely monitoring how the Police Administration is handling the recent arrest of about 20 thugs for attacking the office of the MP for Okaikwei, Theresa Lardi Awuni’s office injuring some people.

The arrest is said to have been made by the anti-robbery unit of the Ghana Police Service.at the registration centre after an SOS call.
Some of the items retrieved from these bandits included live ammunitions, cutlasses and other weapons.

The individuals, identified as pro-NPP hoodlums, who were had reportedly pitched camp at the voter registration center terrorizing people, targeted the NDC MP after they were confronted.

National Communication Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, who took to X (formerly Twitter), to raise concern about the incident, alleged some senior NPP officials were scheming to have the arrested party freed before cautioning that the NDC will keep a keen eye on the matter.

“The thugs were arrested while they were publicly smoking marijuana behind the district court near the voters’ registration centre,” the post added.
He described the arrested party as “armed bandits” adding that there were in possession of “live ammunitions, cutlasses and other weapons.”
Critics are questioning why the Police Administration, which has been quick in issuing press statements on such arrests is silent.

READ SAMMY GYAMFI’S FULL POST BELOW:
Earlier this morning, about twenty (20) armed bandits belonging to the ruling NPP were arrested at the registration centre in the Okaikoi North Constituency by the anti-robbery unit of the Ghana Police Service.

Some of the items retrieved from these bandits included live ammunitions, cutlasses and other weapons.

The thugs were arrested while they were publicly smoking marijuana behind the district court near the voters’ registration centre.

Yesterday, these same NPP bandits attacked the office of the sitting MP, Hon. Theresa Awuni and inflicted serious injuries on some innocent voter registrants.

Sources from the Police regional command have hinted us that some senior NPP officials are at the Police Station trying to secure bail for these hoodlums.

Some of the men arrested are on the police wanted list for offences ranging from robbery to murder.
Why has the Police Service not issued a statement on this incident like they did in the case of Hon. Collins Dauda?

Is somebody planning to coverup this serious issue?
Well, we are watching keenly to see how this issue will be handled.

Mahama ‘fumes’ at loss of $190m because of PDS scandal

Former President John Mahama has expressed disappointment at the loss of $190 million meant for private sector participation in electricity distribution under the US Millennium Compact.

In a Facebook post, Mahama attributed the loss to what he called corrupt, ‘yenkyendi’ and cronyistic governance practices of the current administration led by President Nana Akufo-Addo and his Vice.

Mahama, who is gearing up for the 2024 elections, assured Ghanaians that he will prioritise accountability and work to enhance private sector efficiency in the electricity distribution system if elected. He also pledged a thorough investigation of the PDS scandal to hold those involved accountable.

The cancellation of the $190 million power compact under the Millennium Challenge Corporation compact for Ghana follows the PDS scandal, with government taking no action against the identified persons involved in the scandal.

The former president passionately called on all Ghanaians to unite, stand together, and fight against the pervasive issues of corruption and cronyism. He envisions a brighter future for Ghana’s power sector, a future that can only be built with the collective efforts of all.

With the hashtags #LetsBuildGhanaTogether and #Mahama4Change2024, Mahama rallied support for his vision of building a better Ghana that all Ghanaians want, a vision he says includes every Ghanaian.

Mahama will destroy your legacy of deception and rebuild Ghana – Abu Siddique jabs Akufo-Addo

Policy Analyst and member of the NDC Research Committee, Siddique Abubakar Suleiman has taken a swipe at President Nana Akufo-Addo over his recent comment that re-electing former President, John Mahama would destroy his legacy.

He stated that a careful analysis of the current administration from its inauguration in 2017 indicate that the legacy of President Nana Akufo-Addo is corruption.

Adding mismanagement to the achievements of Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Abu Siddique contended that the re-election of John Mahama will only wipe out graft and impunity which are prevalent n the corridors of power currently.

In an article, the analyst listed some common but crucial projects the erstwhile Mahama administration embarked on that keep impacting the lives of Ghanaians, adding that Akufo-Addo only rode on lies to win power and is still deceiving the people despite his nonperformance.

Despite the lies to Ghanaians, Abu Siddique noted that “scandals and allegations of corruption continue to rock the government, eroding trust and confidence in the administration.

He said under the John Mahama administration, Ghana witnessed significant economic growth and development through infrastructure development such as roads and major highways like the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange, Tamale-Bolgatanga road, and the Eastern Corridor road, construction of the Kwame Nkrumah Bridge at Atimpoku and the Fufulso-Sawla road bridge.

He also mentioned that the erstwhile Mahama government embarked on the “construction of modern hospitals like the Tamale Teaching Hospital, the University of Ghana Medical Centre, and the Ridge Hospital expansion.

Below is the statement;

Yes, John Mahama Will Destroy your Legacy of Lies, Deception and Build the Ghana we want.

My response to Nana Addo:

Ghana is at a crossroads, and the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government’s economic mismanagement and corruption have led us to this point.

The recent introduction of new taxes and increase in existing ones have only added to the burden on ordinary Ghanaians.

Meanwhile, scandals and allegations of corruption continue to rock the government, eroding trust and confidence in the administration.

Under John Mahama’s leadership, Ghana witnessed significant economic growth and development. His administration invested heavily in infrastructure, including:

– Roads: Construction of major highways like the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange, Tamale-Bolgatanga road, and the Eastern Corridor road.

– Bridges: Construction of the Kwame Nkrumah Bridge at Atimpoku and the Fufulso-Sawla road bridge.

– Hospitals: Construction of modern hospitals like the Tamale Teaching Hospital, the University of Ghana Medical Centre, and the Ridge Hospital expansion.

– Energy: Increased power generation capacity, ensuring a stable power supply.
– Water: Expanded access to clean water, reducing the water poverty rate.

– Education: Introduced progressive policies like the Progressively Free SHS program.
– Aviation: Upgraded airports, including the Kotoka International Airport.
– Transport: Introduced the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
– Housing: Constructed affordable housing units for Ghanaians.
– Healthcare: Introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

– Agriculture: Implemented the Fertilizer Subsidy Program and the Planting for Food and Jobs program.

Implemented the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program, which provided financial support to the most vulnerable Ghanaians.

Established the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) to mobilize resources for infrastructure development.

Launched the National Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) project to enhance television broadcasting.

Introduced the E-Cabinet system, making Ghana the first country in Africa to implement a paperless cabinet system.

Established the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) to improve healthcare services.

Constructed the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange, one of the busiest intersections in Accra.

Launched the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) to support start-ups and small businesses.

Implemented the Ghana Youth Entrepreneurship Agency (GYEA) program to empower young entrepreneurs.

Established the Accra Digital Centre to support tech start-ups and innovation.

Launched the National HIV/AIDS Fund to support the fight against HIV/AIDS.

In contrast, the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led government has been marred by corruption and mismanagement, with allegations of:

– Embezzlement of state funds
– Conflict of interest in government contracts
– Bribbery and corruption in the awarding of government contracts
– Mismanagement of the national purse
– Nepotism and cronyism in government appointments
– The controversial Ameri Deal
– The botched PDS deal
– The stinking Agyapa Royalties deal
– The shady National Cathedral project

The failed promise to reduce electricity tariffs, which has only increased under their administration.

The failed implementation of the One-District-One-Factory policy, which has been marred by corruption and mismanagement.

The failed rollout of the National Digital Property Address System, which has been plagued by technical issues.

The failed implementation of the GhanaPost GPS, which has been criticized for its inaccuracies and inefficiencies.

The failed promise to create jobs for the youth, which has only seen a rise in unemployment under their administration.

The failed implementation of the Free SHS program, which has been plagued by funding issues and poor implementation.

The failed promise to reduce the size of government, which has only seen an increase in the number of ministers and political appointees.

The consequences of their actions are stark.
Businesses have folded, and many have left the country due to the unfavorable economic environment.

Jumia, GAME, Dark and Lovely, and BIC Pen are just a few examples of companies that have exited Ghana in recent times. The collapse of indigenous banks and the struggles of local businesses are further evidence of the government’s economic mismanagement.

Ghanaians, let us not trade our lives by voting for the NPP led by the corrupt Bawumia to cover his failed masters Nana Addo and NPP big wigs who have taken Ghanaians for a fool.

Never again should we entrust our future to a party that has consistently prioritized their own interests over the well-being of the nation.

Bawumia has failed to deliver on his promises, including:

– Building 16 Senior High Schools in the various regions, which remains unfulfilled
– Failing to fulfill his promises to the Zango communities
– Making Hajj unaffordable for many Ghanaian Muslim’s.

If you are taught by a wrong driver who has killed a lot of people on the way as his mate, you are likely to fail ten times your master failed. So Bawumia, the mate, should not think of driving Ghanaians at all, as he will run the country into an abyss.

John Mahama and the NDC offer a credible alternative to the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government’s failed economic policies and corrupt practices.

John MAHAMA’s 24-hour economic policy is designed to unlock the potential of Ghana’s economy, attract investors, and create jobs.

This bold initiative will transform Ghana into a hub of economic activity, creating opportunities for all citizens.

Let us reject the Nana Addo’s legacy of corruption and mismanagement.
Let us choose a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come. Vote for John Mahama and the NDC in the upcoming elections.

‘NPP must choose a peaceful transfer of power to NDC in their own interest’ – Asiedu Nketia

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), stressing the need for a smooth and peaceful transition of power in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, May 9, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC National Chairman, expressed concerns and accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of potentially facilitating President Akufo-Addo’s alleged reluctance to transfer power to their candidate, John Mahama.

“We do not expect the Electoral Commission to act as the conduit through which Akufo-Addo will implement his avowed determination not to hand over power to the visionary, experienced, and trustworthy John Dramani Mahama.

“NPP must choose a peaceful transfer of power from NPP to NDC in their own interest. The 2024 elections will not be business as usual,” he stated.

Nketiah stated that NDC registration agents nationwide would oppose any attempts by the EC to reduce transparency in the ongoing voter registration process.

“We wish to serve notice and notice is hereby served that NDC registration agents across the country will resist the EC’s clandestine attempts aimed at diminishing transparency in the voter registration exercise.

“Let me emphasise that our agents must activate the party’s super hi-tech application systems to transmit all serial numbers of BVR kits in their districts and electoral areas to the National Elections and IT Directorate of the party, with or without the approval of the EC.”
